Prepare for an appointment

Making a mortgage application requires several documents and information. This is a checklist to bring to your initial appointment. The more documents you bring, the quicker your application process will be. Don't worry if you can't find all the items on the checklist.

At your first appointment, bring the following:

Proof of identity and form of ID (passport or driver's license)
Proof of income:
  • 3 years of employer information (name, address, phone, and employment dates)
  • 13 weeks or 3 months of payslips
  • Latest P60
  • Last 2 years of SA302s/audited accounts (if self-employed)
  • Latest 3 months of bank statements
  • Latest annual mortgage statement
  • Details of current expenses and loan commitments
Proof of address:
  • Full address history (last 3 years)
  • Residency proof (utility bill or bank statement, last 3 months)
Additional items to bring:
  • Proof of deposit
  • Personal and mortgage-related insurance details
  • Employment benefits (sick pay, pensions)
  • Property details (if not purchasing through Your Move)

Please bring original copies of these documents.
